JET-2010 The Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training Joint Entrance Test 2010


JET-2010 will be held in one session on 22nd May, 2010 (Saturday) from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm.

For admission to Polytechnic colleges in Punjab and Chandigarh
3 years diploma courses
Applications are invited from candidates desirous of seeking admission to diploma courses in the institutions (located in Punjab and Chandigarh-UT) affiliated to the Punjab state board of technical education and industrial training
Admission to diploma courses will be made on the basis of inter-se-merit of Joint entrance test (JET-2010) to be held on 22 May, 2010 (Saturday)
Eligibility: Students who have appeared in matriculation examination or who have already passed the matriculation examination can apply for the JET-2010. However, the candidates who have appeared in the matriculation examination will be eligible for admission only if they are able to pass the matriculation or equivalent examination from a recognized board
Examination fee: Rs. 520/- for general category and Rs 260/- for SC/ST categories in the form of cash or bank draft along with the completed application form (the board has published a refresher for JET-2010 for the benefit of the candidates. The same is sold at a price of Rs 300/-)
Courses offered: Architectural Assistantship, Civil engineering, chemical engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, micro processors applications, electronics and telecommunication engineering, fashion design, leather technology (footwear), garment technology (garment manufacturing technology), information technology, production and industrial engineering, leather technology, library and information science, mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering (refrigeration and air conditioning), medical lab technology, plastic technology, textile technology (knitting, weaving and spinning), textile design, textile processing, automobile engineering, mechanical engineering (tool and die)
Prospectus-cum-application forms are available at a cost of Rs 250/- in the affiliated institutions, designated bank branches of Punjab national bank, HDFC bank and Suvidha centres in district head quarters of Punjab (for the detailed list, kindly log on to board’s website)
Candidates are advised to submit the completed application forms in the designated bank branches by paying Rs 20/- as handling charges in addition to examination fee and obtain acknowledgement slip
The students who successfully complete the diploma level courses are also eligible for admission to 2nd year B.Tech courses in the engineering colleges through lateral entry engineering test (LEET)

Note : If the application is being sent to the Board by post, Fee should be sent through Bank Draft in favour of "Secretary, Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training" payable at "Chandigarh", However if the Application Form is submitted in the designated banks then the applicant should deposit the same in the form of cash and obtain proper receipt. Candidates are advised to deposit the Application Form preferably at the Banks.
